Everest Infrastructure Partners today announced the acquisition of Boston, Massachusetts-based Varsity Wireless Towers and its portfolio of communications towers in New England.  The acquisition also includes Varsity’s extensive tower development pipeline of more than 50 wireless communications sites as well as Varsity’s multi-carrier indoor Distributed Antenna System in the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.

“We are excited to be joining the Everest Infrastructure team,” said Chris Davis, CEO of Varsity Wireless Towers.  “Everest shares our vision of developing advanced communications facilities that address the evolving coverage and capacity needs of our wireless carrier customers.  Everest is a strong organization with significant financial resources that can help us continue to grow with our customers and greatly expand our development pipeline.”

We have a high regard for the collective skills of the Varsity team, especially given their success in the very challenging New England market,” said Matt Newton, CEO of Everest Infrastructure Partners.  “Both Everest and Varsity provide infrastructure services to every national wireless operator.  We look forward to supporting this team as we expand our footprint of wireless towers and communications infrastructure.  The combination of our collective resources should be a significant positive event for our customers.”

The portfolio of tower assets acquired from Varsity Wireless is comprised entirely of newly constructed facilities with high growth potential.  “We are providing advanced network solutions to our carrier customers, primarily as they are looking to meet challenging coverage or capacity needs and planning for 5G networks,” said Chris Davis.  “The communications industry continues to realize tremendous growth in consumer broadband adoption.  We expect significant growth across all wireless carriers on our existing towers and pipeline of sites.”

Following the acquisition, Everest Infrastructure’s tower development team will continue to be located in Boston, Massachusetts and will complement the company’s headquarters located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
